Swift surprised everyone when she announced a new album set for the end of the year. Her album Reputation is due out on November 10, 2017. It’s her first album since 1989 came out in 2014.
To kick off the news, she wiped her social media accounts clean. After that, the first single, “Look What You Made Me Do,” made its debut. It was an obvious rag on her feuds with the likes of Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry and ex Calvin Harris. Of course, no Taylor Swift release goes unnoticed. “Look What You Made Me Do” quickly became the most-streamed Spotify song within a 24-hour period.
After that, it was time for single number two. “Look What You Made Me Do” was a bit divisive in its praise, but the newest track “…Ready for It?” is even more controversial. Why? Because it’s Taylor Swift rapping. It’s Taylor Swift delving into EDM. It’s Taylor Swift doing very un-Taylor Swift things.
There is one thing that’s true to her usual fashion. “…Ready for It?” seems to be about her relationship with new beau Joe Alwyn.
We’re not personally digging this vibe, but listen to “…Ready for It?” yourself here:
