The festivals were previously held at the San Manuel Amphitheater & Grounds in San Bernardino, but a clause within the county’s Live Nation contract may allow the county to back out.
The clause says the contract can be nullified if the shows “become a public safety hazard, or are subject to resident complaints due to noise or other nuisance behavior.”
There’s apparently been no shortage of complaints. Dozens, if not hundreds, of local community members have expressed distaste at the level of traffic, drug usage and sale, noise and public indecency that follows the festivals.
The Board of Supervisors for San Bernardino County will put the issue to a vote on May 24th, 2016. If they vote to sever the contract with Live Nation, Beyond Wonderland and Nocturnal Wonderland will have to find homes elsewhere.
