It’s looking that way, though a new album coming from the funny fellow is sure to be anything but normal. However, given his hilarious music videos and YouTube channel, nothing would really surprise us at this point.
All we can do is sit back and wait for the new music with anticipation.
“Right now, yeah, I’m working on an album. Or I guess it’s like an LP, like seven to eight songs, I think,” Dillon Francis confirmed to Australian radio station Triple J.
“For the LP/Album I want to make, I actually want to work more with Latin artists and do more stuff that’s very Spanglish, Moombahton style,” he said. “I just really want to make something that’s cohesive, because the last album that I made, I feel like it was really all over the place. So this is the concept I want to go with, and I really want people to listen to it and go, ‘Nailed it.'”
In an earlier interview, he also confronted the shortcomings of Money Sucks, Friends Rule head on. “I don’t want it to be like last time. Because now I understand the faults of my last album, where it’s so ADD,” he said.
“Which is my personality though,” he conceded. “But I would want to sit down and make something that’s super cohesive and that really you can listen to and be like, okay, I hear all the soundscapes that are in every single song that the producer used differently, but they’re all intertwined.”
This sounds like a pretty new direction for Dillon Francis. Though we loved Money Sucks, Friends Rule, he is right that it was a bit all-over-the-place. We’re hoping he keeps his trademark spirit and humor going strong despite the changes.
