Burning Man was previously held at Black Rock City, a temporary location set up once a year in Nevada.
The property, which is called Fly Ranch, is located fairly close to the Black Rock City location in Nevada, where Burning Man has traditionally been held. Black Rock City, a temporary set-up for the festival each year, was capped at 70,000 attendees each year.
The new location, however, should be equipped to handle more. Fly Ranch is comprised of 3,800 acres that include natural springs and even a geyser.
The Burning Man organizers posted online about the purchase, but because they are still in the early stages of planning, there wasn’t a whole lot to reveal.
“You may be asking yourself, ‘What does this mean for us? What can we do with this? How will this benefit the community?’ The answers will unfold slowly, over a period of time,” the post read.
