Vin Diesel Records Tear-Inducing Track with Steve Aoki

What if EDM got a fast and furious twist? In the latest string of celebrities to try their hands at EDM, Vin Diesel is giving it a go. And he’s not doing it alone–Steve Aoki is also behind the wheel.

Vin Diesel was participating in an interview with the Los Angeles Times thanks to his new movie, The Fate of the Furious. In a fit of excitement, he called up Steve Aoki mid-interview to describe a track they recorded together earlier that week. On the brand new song, Diesel provides the vocals while Aoki provides his usual expertise.

New BFFs?

They refused to play the song for the reporter, but Diesel said he played it for his longtime girlfriend Paloma Jimenez. When he did that, it made him cry because it was so good.

Aoki supported the idea that this track could amount to something worthwhile. He said, “What Vin brought to the table, I’ve never experienced before. I think it’s going to blow people’s minds.”

At that point, Diesel told the reporter, “You just got gold. You. Just. Got. GOLD.” He added joyfully, “I’m gonna get a Grammy before I get an Oscar.” Clearly, this is something he’s serious about.

There’s no news on when the track will be out, but we’ll surely hear about it when it lands.

In the meantime, you can check out Vin Diesel’s other ventures. He may be new to EDM, but he’s tried his hand in the digital world before. In 2002, he launched his own computer game studio called Tigon Studios. Their first game was The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, which had a decent amount of success critically and commercially.
