Steve Angello Announces New Album – No More Swedish House Mafia Reunion?

Are the hopes of a Swedish House Mafia reunion totally out the window? It’s not a given one way or another at this point, but the latest update is that Steve Angello will be releasing a solo album in 2017.

In an interview with BBC 1 during his residency, Steve Angello blasted a two hour mix that ended with “Stay,” the first track off his upcoming album. Sure, he debuted it back in January, but hearing it on the radio was a friendly reminder of what’s to come.

It wasn’t the song itself that got everybody excited, however. It was Steve Angello’s comments after the fact.

“I’m going to be taking a break from Radio 1 next, as I’ve got a pretty busy 2017 planned,” Angello said. “This is probably a good time to announce that there’s a new album coming. It’s almost done. So next time you hear from me, it’s gonna be a lot of hearing.”

Does that mean he’ll be too busy for a Swedish House Mafia reunion? Possibly, but at least putting out a new album is a pretty darn good reason for delaying our dream reunion.
