Apparently, that includes collaborating with one of the most hated production teams out there, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. At a recent show, the duo announced that they’d be making a joint track with Diplo.
The Dutch producers are well known for using ghostwriters on their tracks, which was already a major turnoff for some fans.
However, their shady antics to win DJ Mag’s #1 spot on the top 100 DJs last year cinched their fate of unpopularity. In order to steal the spot from long-time winner Hardwell, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike hired people (actually, attractive women) to carry touchscreen tablets around Tomorrowland and basically force others to vote for them.
Many of the people targeted by the women had never even seen the duo live. Some flat out hadn’t heard of them.
It may be easy to get mad at Diplo for working with the likes of those two, especially in light of his comments in an interview earlier this year.
