The group, which is made up of brothers Kevin and Jeff Saurer, was playing at What The Festival in Oregon when they got way more rowdy than necessary. One of the brothers was messing around with their sound system, and when the sound technician responded negatively, the brother started screaming “I don’t give a f***” into the mic.
The sound people cut the mics in response, and Hippie Sabotage got even angrier and chucked the mics into a nearby pool. The crew responded by calling security to escort the duo out, but they didn’t go quietly.
The two teamed up against a security guard and one of them started choking out a staff member before others were able to separate them.
Someone managed to catch a video of the behind-the-stage brawl:
Hippie Sabotage issued a statement shortly after, but they avoided giving an apology. “It was an unfortunate event that placed us in an unsafe situation in the middle of our performance. We feel terrible that the fans didn’t get the full set, but we love performing for Portland and will be back,” they said.Read more to see Hippie Sabotage blow up on Twitter:
