The DJ was previously pretty active on Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat. But earlier this week, he sent out a Snap saying “You’ve disappointed me.” After that, he suspended his other social media accounts.
At about the same time all this was going down, DJ Snake mysteriously canceled his show at the Wynn hotel in Las Vegas without an explanation. Snake’s representation Paradigm Talent Agency broke the news on Twitter. The tweets have since been deleted, but here’s what they said:
We regret to announce that DJ Snake will not be able to perform at the Wynn on Friday, May 26…He is disappointed to miss this weekend’s event, but looks forward to returning to the Wynn on June 30 at XS.
The Wynn didn’t make any official announcements on their pages.
So what’s the situation? It’s not clear right now, but some people are speculating it has to do with the current lawsuit he’s entangled in. The same lawyer who helped Marvin Gaye’s estate win against Robin Thicke for “Blurred Lines” has been hired to come after DJ Snake and Lil Jon for “Turn Down for What.” Golden Crown Publishing is alleging the duo stole the song from their clients, the Architectz.
If this is the case, it’s hard to see what his Snap about disappointment to his followers–what did any of us have to do with the lawsuit? Hopefully things will get cleared up shortly.
