Think you can handle a class from deadmau5?

As part of the educational program called MasterClass, deadmau5 will be hosting a series of over 20 online classes focusing on synths, melody creation, mixing, mastering and even branding.

“Kids, DJs … anyone can compose music with just a computer,” deadmau5 said. “My MasterClass is a no bullshit look into what it takes to make great music, and it’s not just buying millions of dollars worth of gear. I’m going to show my students how to play with sounds and mix melodies they can share with the world. I’ve never done something at this depth before.”

Deadmau5 will be working directly from his home studio, which will also give class attendees a good glimpse at the inner workings of his life and creative process. Anyone who watched his live stream of his analog recreation of the Stranger Things theme will know how interesting this could get.

The one drawback is that each class is $90, which could get expensive if you want to do every single session. However, the fact that you pay individually for whichever courses you want allows you to pick and choose which sessions will be the most valuable to you.

MasterClass offers a ton of other classes in various subjects. Other instructors currently include Christina Aguilera, Kevin Spacey, Serena Williams, James Patterson, Reba McEntire, Aaron Sorkin and Dustin Hoffman.

Though all these classes are surely awesome, we’re guessing deadmua5’s will be the most profanity-filled.
