Deadmau5 Plots Pranks for Ultra Music Festival

Deadmau5 may have a few surprises in store for his set at the 2016 Ultra Music Festival, if his snarky comments on Twitter are telling the truth.

The mouse of house may have some tricks in store.

The artist was recently called out on Twitter for performing on the “A State of Trance” Stage at this year’s Ultra. A Twitter user sent a comment over to deadmau5, stating he has “no place in Trance, wtf is he doing at ASOT?”

Deadmau5 stuck to Twitter to make his case.

Deadmau5 last appeared at Ultra in 2014. However, his participation was very last-minute. The performer was asked to fill in for Avicii after Avicii was forced to cancel. Information later surfaced that Avicii was hospitalized due to a blocked gall bladder, for which he was undergoing surgery.

Deadmau5 used his opportunity at the 2014 Festival to bring some laughs. The artist performed an “Old MacDonald” rendition of Martin Garrix‘s “Animals” after confirming with fans that Garrix had performed the track earlier in the Festival.

If that creative prank is what Deadmau5 could pull together last minute, we can likely expect a much more elaborate set this year. Combined with the house artist’s rebellious tweets, it’s possible he has a far larger gag planned.

Ultra Music Festival takes place in Miami from March 18 to March 20, 2016. If you’re heading to the festival, you can watch deadmau5’s antics unfold at 6:10 PM on Sunday, March 20, at the “A State of Trance” stage. Other headliners include Afrojack, Prodigy, Tiesto, and Crystal Castles.
