If you’re headed to Houston, Texas, over the weekend of June 4 and 5, you’ll have the prime opportunity to check out the Free Press Summer Festival. With a mix of EDM and indie rock, the festival provides the perfect way to enjoy the summer heat.
Saturday’s lineup will feature headliners Collegrove (Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz), Modest Mouse and Zeds Dead, with other performances by Matt and Kim, A$AP Ferg, Chicano Batman and more.
Headlining on Sunday will be Deadmau5, The National and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. The Chainsmokers, Young the Giant, and Against Me! will also be performing that day.
Both one-day and two-day passes are available, so even if you can’t make the whole weekend, you can at least get a taste of the action. There are three different ticket options, ranging from general admission to the “Fancy Pants” option to the high end “Silk Pajamas” experience. Each purchase level comes with additional perks.
Since its start in 2009, Free Press Summer Festival has hosted over 55 bands each year. The festival has had a number of top artists perform over the past several years, and made a huge impact in 2010 when The Flaming Lips singer Wayne Coyne rolled over fans in a giant hamster ball.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a festival without copious amounts of food. Several favorite Houston food trucks will be making the rounds serving everything from grilled cheese to gourmet desserts.
