Deadmau5 Calls Out Calvin Harris for Celeb Collaborations on New Album

Lately there have been a lot of crossovers between EDM artists and musicians in other genres. Pop stars, rappers and everyone in between are lining up to get a gig with some of the electronic world’s biggest producers. Is that a good thing? Deadmau5 doesn’t think so.

Then again, there’s very little in the world that deadmau5 seems to enjoy. The latest target of his vitriol is Calvin Harris. Harris, one of the richest producers out there, has a new album coming out in June. Yesterday he announced the details of the LP, which is titled Funk Wav Bounces Vol 1.

Friends? Probably not.

He previously said the LP would feature the “greatest artists of our generation.” Now, we know exactly whom he meant. Frank Ocean, Travis Scott, Future, Katy Perry, John Legend, Ariana Grande, Migos and several more are all joining him on the album.

Never one to hold back his thoughts, deadmau5 dished on what he thought about all this.

You like what you like, so we can’t really fault him for not being enthused about this album. Still, the true test will be Calvin Harris’ new album itself. It’ll be out on June 30, 2017.
