The producer teased that he’ll be launching a new track this Friday, September 16. The sneaky devil only announced the track this Monday, though, and until then kept it under wraps.
His Twitter post revealed that the song will be called “My Way,” but didn’t give much more info than that:
However, his later tweets revealed that there will definitely be a guest vocalist (no surprises there). Not only that, but he’s holding a contest where people can try to guess who it is.
Of the people who guess correctly, five people will win a signed version of Calvin Harris’ entire catalogue of music and, as he puts it, “tons of merch.” All you have to do is tweet your guess along with the hashtag “#CalvinMyWay” to enter.
Naturally, some people are wondering if the song will be a bash against his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, but we’ll have to wait until we hear those highly anticipated lyrics to find out.
In other Calvin Harris news, the DJ has also revealed another interesting tidbit: he’s going to stop making albums.
A source close to Harris said, “Calvin has always been a forward-thinker and believes just releasing singles is the way forward. Albums don’t sell how they used to and artists are now seeing streaming as the future. Albums are time-consuming and limit artists to cycles rather than having a persistent presence in the charts.”
Makes sense to us! After all, the Chainsmokers have been releasing nothing but singles for their entire career, and it’s turning out pretty darn well for them.
Now begins the long wait until Calvin Harris’ newest track is released on Friday…
